The suspense was built up wonderfully, although a bit wordy at times. Emily was enjoyable, smart and resourceful, and I liked the survival aspect of her searching through which supplies she deems necessary.
An overall interesting storyline, but I would have liked it more if it had been a bit more streamlined. There was a lot of detail, and I felt that the statement 'less is more' would improve on the novel immensely.
I'm hoping that in the next book, should I choose to pick it up, will have far more human interaction. I like Emily, but I want to see the world's effects on her with other people. This novel, rightfully, felt lonely.
